Samual Eckhert is a dreamer and an artist who spends his days doodling cute boys and mythological creatures in his journal. However, Ethan Thompson, Sam's best friend, is a popular kid and a heartthrob hockey player. Everybody wants to be his friend; Sam and Ethan's worlds typically shouldn't converge. Now, in high school, life is more complicated as the two boys drift away toward new social groups. Sam's stupor is accelerated with the arrival of Austin, a cute geeky boy who catches Sam's interest, and he struggles to understand his sexuality. Except, when Austin is cruelly outed, Sam is conflicted even further, delaying his exit from the closet.
